Your Cover and Policy Key Facts

The insurance provided through CGS is specific to your property. Should you sell your property the insurance automatically transfers to the new owner and no assignment or notification is necessary. (Note however that some contractors do require notification of assignment of their guarantee).

Though the contractor is responsible for dealing with all claims, should he cease to trade the insurance becomes active and the insurance company will then deal with any claims under the contractor’s guarantee. Should this happen, a simple e-mail or telephone call will connect you to our knowledgeable and sympathetic staff.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU KEEP SAFE THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS THAT WILL BE REQUIRED IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM AND THESE ARE CLEARLY LISTED IN THE POLICY DOCUMENT UNDER ‘HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM’. PLEASE NOTE THAT PHOTOCOPIED DOCUMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

For a more detailed summary of the policy please read the document under Literature.
